Please bear with us while we help our clients to go home! We’ve had an adrenalin-filled week helping our almost all of client staff to make the shift to working from home.
We’d been expecting it and contacted all our clients by phone at the end of last week to ask about their plans.
That helped us to plan our workload, and seems to have been appreciated as a reach-out to the Excellimore client family.
Helping You Take Your Work Home
Each client has been different depending on the remote working capacity they’ve had in place. Broadly speaking those people who work from laptops have been configured to work by connecting a Remote Desktop Server located in their office. Where a person uses a PC in the office and has a home computer, we’ve configured access from that home computer through a secured connection to their own PC in their office.
There are also all the various cloud services which people use. Provided they’re secure, these will carry on as before with access from home instead of the office.
Cyber Security for Working From Home
Security has been uppermost in our minds and no-one has been allowed to connect their home PC directly to their office network. This is because home PCs, which we don’t manage and can’t easily connect to, might have malware problems which need to be kept away from their office systems.
So, we’ve had a round-robin of several hundred people and all are now good to head home for the duration. Of course there will be unpredicted issues cropping up and we’ll be pleased to help with these when the time comes.
We’ll still review everyone’s security again to be certain. We expect to be doing another round-robin to make sure that everything is aligned with Excellimore best practice.
To finish for now, we’ve emailed all our clients with our contact details and working arrangements for the foreseeable future. If you feel you’ve been missed or if you’re not yet a client, please call us on 0131-476-0000 or fill in the contact form on our website and we’ll be back with you within a couple of hours.
