We’ve been speaking to our clients about Cyber Essentials for some time now. It’s a very useful way of having a independent check of your cyber security arrangements.
It’s also a straightforward way to assure your customers and suppliers that you’re taking cyber security seriously. The certification can be carried out to the basic Cyber Essentials level, or to the rather more advanced and searching Cyber Essentials Plus level.
The Scottish Government has been supporting Scottish SMEs with grants of up to £1,000. These are available to help with the cost of getting Cyber Essentials certification for the first time.
However, the Scottish Government Cyber Essentials Grant Scheme is coming to an end very soon! The relevant dates are:
- 6th March 2020 – deadline for applications for a new voucher
- 31st March 2020 – date by which your voucher application will be approved
- 31st July 2020 – deadline for completing your Cyber Essentials certification
