I remember being summoned to the head teacher’s office at primary school. Lump in my throat, wondering what I had done wrong this time…
I enter to find the headmistress looking at the BBC Micro computer. Her expression a mixture of puzzlement verging on frustration.
“Martin, I think you’re the right person to help with this. I can’t get this disk to load.”
One Shift+Break key press on the BBC Micro later and I had my first happy customer. I haven’t looked back and, other than a brief soiree into Civil Engineering at university, I’ve been helping people get the best out of technology ever since.
I joined Excellimore in 2002 and have loved helping our clients make sense of the ever-changing technologies available to them. Now as Client IT Manager I’m responsible for ensuring our client IT systems meet the needs of their business, and helping our clients plan ahead. We’re as keen as our clients to avoid IT surprises!
